Creative Warmth in the Crisp Autumn Air

November 10, 2025

A Season for Reflection, Art, and Connection

As the air turns crisp and the leaves scatter in shades of gold and amber, I always feel that familiar pull inward — a time to slow down, light a candle, and create. Autumn carries a kind of cozy energy — gentle and grounding, full of inspiration waiting quietly in the soft light of the season.

In My Studio

In my studio, surrounded by pastels, brushes, and the comforting hum of music, I find my rhythm again. Mocha curls up nearby while I paint, occasionally giving me that look that says it’s time for a walk — a reminder to step outside, breathe deeply, and soak in the stillness that fuels my art.

New Medium

This season I’ve been exploring a new creative twist — combining colored pencils with my pastels and watercolors. The pencils allow for beautiful fine details and softness, especially in fur and feathers, giving my pieces a new layer of texture and life. It’s been such fun experimenting and seeing how this approach brings a different kind of energy to my work.

What’s New

I’ve completed a few new pastel paintings that capture that mix of light, warmth, and quiet connection that I always hope to share — from the gentle glow filtering through trees to the tenderness of animal companionship. These pieces feel especially meaningful right now as I move into a busy season of shows and art fairs throughout November.

It will be a full and festive month — and I couldn’t be happier about it. Meeting people in person, chatting about art, and seeing the spark in someone’s eyes when a painting speaks to them… that’s the real joy of it all.

As the days grow shorter and I tuck my garden in for winter, I find myself reflecting on the balance between stillness and connection. Painting gives me a sense of peace, but it also opens the door to sharing that feeling with others — a reminder that creativity, in all its forms, connects us to something larger and more beautiful than ourselves.

Thank you, as always, for following along and being part of this journey. Your kind messages, encouragement, and shared love of nature mean more than you know.

Warmly,
