Warm Wishes as the Year Draws to a Close

December 19, 2025

As we move into the Christmas season, I want to send heartfelt holiday wishes and a sincere thank you

Your support, kind words, and genuine interest during this fall’s four art shows meant more to me than I can properly say. It was a full and busy season, and I’m grateful for every conversation, smile, and moment of connection around the artwork.

The winner of the painting draw has now been selected and notified privately.

Congratulations again—and thank you to everyone who participated and supported my work.

Finishing the Year

With the Christmas shows now wrapped up, I’m happily cleaning, packing, and putting away my display walls and bins for a while. There’s something deeply satisfying about closing that chapter and turning inward.

I’m looking forward to two quiet weeks over Christmas with no commitments; a time to rest, reflect, and (fingers crossed) spend some unrushed hours in the studio.

Lately, I feel like I’m finally beginning to understand my own artistic rhythm - what I’m drawn to, how I like to work, and the kind of calm I want my paintings to hold.

It’s been a few years of trial and exploration, and this feels like a meaningful turning point.

In the Studio

On a more personal note, I’ve been inspired by my friend Holly and her beautiful Memory Albums to revisit a different kind of creativity.

I recently pulled out my collection of old travel slides from my younger, more adventurous days. Back then, slides were the way we captured the world, rolls of film mailed away, then returned as tiny windows into distant places.

I now have over 3,000 slides, no projector, and no carousels (those were let go long ago!). I’ve started digitizing them one by one and plan to curate the highlights into a keepsake album.

It’s a slower, more reflective process - part collage, part storytelling, and surprisingly moving.

As for the studio, new ideas are quietly forming. I’m feeling drawn toward a winter scene. And ever since my magical owl encounter a few weeks ago, an owl painting has been patiently waiting its turn.

Stay tuned.

Best Wishes to You

✨ I hope your holidays are filled with warmth, laughter, and meaningful moments—and that the New Year brings you peace, good health, and creative inspiration of your own.

With gratitude and warm wishes,
